कोलकाता। केंद्र की सत्ताधारी भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) को पश्चिम बंगाल के निकाय चुनाव में तगड़ा झटका लगा है। मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी की तृणमूल कांग्रेस (TMC) ने सभी सातों स्थानीय निकाय चुनाव में भारी बहुमत से विजय हासिल कर BJP और वामपंथी दलों का सूपड़ा साफ कर दिया।
हालांकि BJP इस बात से संतोष कर सकती है कि उसने वामपंथी दलों को पीछे कर नंबर दो पर अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज कराई। गौरतलब है कि राज्य के सात निकाय चुनाव के लिए 13 अगस्त को वोटिंग हुई थी।
दुर्गापुर में तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने सभी 43 वॉर्डों पर कब्जा किया। बुनियादपुर में 14 में से 13 पर तृणमूल जीती, जबकि एक पर BJP उम्मीदवार विजयी रहा। धूपगुड़ी में तृणमूल ने 16 में से 14 पर कब्जा किया, BJP के खाते में 4 सीटें आईं। पांशकुड़ा में 18 में से 17 वॉर्ड पर तृणमूल जीती, एक सीट बीजेपी ने जीती। हल्दिया के सभी 29 और कूपर्स कैंप के 12 वॉर्डों में तृणमूल उम्मीदवार जीते।
